Kunsthal Spritten and Læseforeningen invite you to a guided communal reading

Kunsthal Spritten x Læseforeningen

For one evening in October, Læseforeningen (The Reading Society) takes over Kunsthal Spritten’s former boiler hall. Under the title ‘Caring Critique of Power’, we invite all to join us for a guided communal reading. The event is part of the news outlet Føljeton’s launch of an online Folkebibliotek (People’s Library), curated by the podcast duo ‘A Seat at the Table’.

We live in a time when the value of care is up for debate. We discuss who provides it, who is denied the right to it, and what role it plays in the struggle for human rights.

Over the course of ninety minutes or so, leaving room for conversation and a dash of nourishing care in the form of coffee and cake, we will read an excerpt from a selected text from the People’s Library. Læseforeningen facilitates a conversation that everyone can take part in. You don’t need to have read the text or know the literature in advance.

We look forward to jointly reading an excerpt from one of the sixteen books selected by the podcast duo ‘A Seat at the Table’ as the most eye-opening titles to fit under the heading ‘caring critique of power’.
